Karla Hernandez Chew is a first-year digital film student at NMSU. She was born in El Paso, Texas and raised in both El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, Mexico.

Karla is passionate about post-production in filmmaking, especially editing and sound design. Through The Round Up and NMSU, she aims to grow her skills and expand her knowledge of digital media and storytelling.

Beyond film, Karla enjoys spending time with family and friends. She loves music — whether listening, creating, or performing. She plays the bass and piano and sings in the choir.
