Uziel Ramos, Bilingual Editor
Uziel Ramos, or “Uzi,” is continuing as a staff writer and the Bilingual Editor at The Round Up. He is a sophomore pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Geography.
Although born in Dallas, Texas, he was raised in El Paso for most of his upbringing. He has always been interested in the natural history of Earth as well as its geography. He also loves learning about human history and other cultures. However, after working as a member of his high school’s yearbook team during his senior year, he suddenly became passionate about journalism. In April 2024, he won first place in two categories for journalism in the city-wide UIL competition. He graduated from Americas High School of the Socorro Independent School District.
Uziel’s favorite hobbies include sketching, drawing, writing, traveling, as well as the occasional outdoor hike. So far, he has been to the U.S. states of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, the Mexican state of Chihuahua, as well as Italy, Greece, Japan. He is fluent in both English and Spanish, being born to immigrant parents from Mexico.
