Vida "Vee" Montoya

Vida “Vee” Montoya, Staff Writer

Vida “Vee” Montoya is a senior at New Mexico State University and a first-year staff writer for The Round Up. They are majoring in Digital Film Making and minoring in Creative Media & Journalism. They were born in Las Vegas, NM and raised in Albuquerque.

Vee initially declared their major in Animation, but after many talks, deliberation, and advice from mentors Tessa Kennedy & Lisanne Grant, they rediscovered their passion for writing and a newfound passion for film. She is also an ambassador for the College of Arts & Sciences, and the Program Coordinator for the new category LGBTQ+ in the 2025 Las Cruces International Film Fest.

In the future, she hopes to become a freelance writer, director, producer, actress, and ASL interpreter. For fun, she loves to go camping, watch TV/movies, play tabletop CyperPunk with her friends, attend the Fine Arts Flea Market, and is currently learning how to play guitar and piano!
