Brisa Castro is in her first year at New Mexico State University working at the Round Up as a staff writer. She is a double major in political science and economics. She has had a passion for writing since a young age, and discovered an interest in journalism while interning at the Las Cruces Sun-News when she was in High School.
Off campus, Brisa works at an elementary school with an after school program. She believes sparking creativity and passion in youth is important, especially getting them excited about learning.
During her free time, she enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and baking. She also likes horse back riding with her family when her busy schedule allows enough free time.
