David Castañeda

David Castañeda, Multimedia Specialist

David Castañeda is entering his first year as a multimedia specialist at The Round Up. This is his first year studying at New Mexico State University and is majoring in Digital Film Making. He was born and raised in El Paso, Texas as an only child.

He has been enamored by everything film and photography since he was in elementary school and has only fallen in love with the art more and more since. David enjoys nothing more than to be behind a camera and doing his best to connect with others through the stories he tells. Influenced by the movies he watched in his youth, he hopes to become a filmmaker that advocates for the many societal issues he’s experienced throughout his life and inspire at least one other person to do the same.

Binging shows and graphic design are among the few of his hobbies along with music. He enjoys playing a variety of instruments on his own from the bass to the saxophone. Music is probably the art that comes closest to film when it comes to his passions with some of his favorite artists being Twenty One Pilots, Gorillaz and Frank Ocean. He hopes that his position at The Round Up is long lasting in order to continue learning as much as he possibly can about storytelling and photography.
