Jade Mata Ornales, Translation Specialist
Jade Mata Ornelas is a senior at NMSU as a Journalism and Media Studies major. She’s joined The Round Up as a Spanish translator.
Jade didn’t start as a Journalism major, she was studying to become a nurse when a chance encounter with a stranger led her to switch majors and pursue journalism to share others’ stories. Being raised speaking Spanish has kept her close to her roots and proud of her origins.
Jade hopes to continue polishing her bilingual skills to aid her community.
