The New Mexico State University Police Department will be hosting an Active Killer/Shooter Workshop this afternoon, Sept 11 in the Yates Auditorium in Domenici Hall from 3:30-5 p.m.

According to an email from NMSU Police Chief Stephen Lopez, the workshop is open to all students, faculty, staff and the general public.

“This workshop will provide information on what to do if confronted with any type of major emergency, and then will focus on specific information related to active killer/shooter incidents that might be encountered anywhere,” Lopez said in the email.

According to Lopez, the police department trains about 21 percent of the student population per year.
