COVID-19 Updates: Cases pass 7,000; young adults still lead cases in Dona Ana county
Here are the most important things you need to know today according to the New Mexico Department of Health, Gov. Michelle Luhan Grisham and Las Cruces officials.
Around the State
- Positive cases around the state have risen to 7,026. Total tests administered in New Mexico have reached 177,361 according to the NMDOH.
- As of Monday’s report, the death toll has reached 320, and 2,522 cases have been designated as recovered.
- Currently, the state reports 216 hospitalizations.
Around NMSU
- Around New Mexico State University, Dona Ana County reported 423 total cases. Total deaths in the county remain at two.
- The leading average age according to yesterday’s report was 20-29 year olds, at 18.62%. Currently, 73 of the total cases are within the 20-29 age range.
- According to an email sent to staff Tuesday, NMSU will host a testing site for employees and athletes Wednesday May 26, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in lot 100. No more than two people are permitted per vehicle and a questionnaire must be completed before arrival.
