A game which took two days to finish, resulted in a tie.

New Mexico State and Seattle U needed two days for their Sunday matchup to conclude. The slate was scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m., but due to lighting, sent the game that lasted 48 minutes, into Monday which resumed at 11 a.m.

The first goal of the game came from Aggies’ Gia Valenti in the 55′ from a near-looked cross, from about 25 yards out, that found the corner of the net. Putting NM State up 1-0. The Redhawks would then answer late with a goal in the 80′. The equalizer came off a penalty kick outside the box, which then hit the referee. The ref eluded to a drop ball for interference which resulted in Seattle’s Kaylee Coatney shot bouncing off some NMSU defenders and beating Aggies’ goalkeeper Makenna Gottschalk evening the game at 1-1, which held as the final score.

NMSU moves to an overall record of 3-2-3 and 0-0-2 in conference play. The Aggies will end their five home-game stretch and travel to Edinburg, Texas, to take on The University of Texas Rio Grand Valley in their third conference matchup of the season on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
