The Round Up will be expanding our news coverage after being accepted as a member of the Associated Press Fund for Journalism (APFJ).
The fund, which the Associated Press started in 2024 to support local public-service journalism, announced on March 10 it was adding 50 newsrooms. The latest group of newsrooms, which also includes El Paso Matters and New Mexico In Depth, focused on those in the Southwest, Spanish-language publications, and university publications.
Participating newsrooms will receive valuable resources from the Associated Press. These include access to nonpartisan news coverage from the Associated Press to republish on our site and resources for localizing national stories. The Round Up will also begin sharing our content through the Associated Press distribution network.
The Round Up is excited to begin this partnership with the APFJ. We remain committed to serving the student population at NMSU and the Las Cruces community.
