Las Cruces, NM – The New Mexico State Aggies (14-16, 6-6 CUSA) hosted the Delaware State Blue Hens (10-22, 1-11 CUSA) for a three-game conference series April 2-4 at Johnson Stadium. The Aggies offense stayed in control all weekend as they swept the Blue Hens, totaling 33 runs across three games. They opened the series with an 11-6 victory Thursday, April 2.
New Mexico State was dominant at the plate throughout the opener. Steve Solorzano went 4-for–5 with a home run and three RBIs, providing a consistent offensive spark from the leadoff spot. Jonatan Clough was equally impressive, driving in five runs including a walk-off two-run double in the eighth inning that sealed the victory. Delaware jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning, but the Aggies answered a five-run fourth inning to take the lead, and they wouldn’t trail again the whole weekend.

On the mound, six pitchers saw action Thursday for New Mexico State. JT Price (3-1) recorded the win, delivering 2.1 innings of work while allowing one hit, two runs and posting a 2.00 ERA on the outing. Connor Wylde started for the Aggies, pitching 3.2 innings before giving way to Price in the fourth.
For Delaware, Ryan McLaughlin (2-3) recorded the loss, surrendering nine hits and nine runs over 3.2 innings with an 8.00 ERA in the start. Ben Moyzan provided relief for the Blue Hens, tossing 3.1 scoreless frames in the effort.
The Aggies followed Thursday’s win with an electric 15-9 victory Friday, April 3, and closed out the sweep with a 7-2 win Saturday, April 4, outscoring Delaware across the final two games by a combined 22-11 margin.

New Mexico State will travel to Tucson this week for a game against the University of Arizona (10-21, 3-9 Big 12) on Tuesday April 7 before returning to conference play. The Aggies hope to carry the momentum from this weekend’s series into their next CUSA matchup against Western Kentucky University (16-16, 4-8 CUSA) in Bowling Green, Ky., beginning Friday, April 10.
Delaware, meanwhile, sits at the bottom of the CUSA standings and will look to find life in its upcoming home series against Missouri State (21-9, 9-3 CUSA) in Newark, Del., beginning April 10. The Blue Hens have dropped 10 of their last 11 conference games and will need to find offensive consistency if they hope to climb out of last place in the conference standings before the end of the regular season.
