The Round Up launches its Week of Giving

Round Up Staff

The Round Up at New Mexico State University is launching for the first time in its history a week of giving in an effort to bolster its donor base. The student-run news entity, which is the longest-running student organization on campus, has been the official student publication of NMSU since 1907 but traces its roots back since as early as 1893. The Round Up, which has now shifted its product to being mainly online with a few special edition print publications each year, has made great strides in recent months to set up a more modern and innovative future in its product. By increasing its staff almost 100% compared to previous years as well as launching for the first time in its history the element of videos and podcasting, The Round Up has enjoyed its best online web traffic to date by at more than 800 %. However despite these promising numbers after essentially rebooting the entire entity, The Round Up has seen a consistent slash in funding from University administration and student government. The Round Up believes it is essential to be well staffed and have the necessary resources to not only report faithfully as watchdogs of administration and government but also to help develop and train the future journalists of the New Mexico and, to a larger degree, America. Please donate today to not only make a difference in students’ lives but to help this historic entity continue to inform the students and community of New Mexico State University.
