Mia Orta, Staff Writer
Mia Orta is a freshman undergraduate at New Mexico State University, double-majoring in Marketing and Studio Art. This will be her first semester working at the Round Up as a staff writer.
Born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Mia discovered her calling for media and the arts at a young age, working in film, photography, and journalism throughout her education. Mia is a firm believer in the importance of self-expression and is driven by passion. She often uses creative outlets, such as playing the violin, designing inspiring graphics, and photography.
Mia considers herself well-traveled and hopes to visit all the world has to offer, expanding her knowledge of various cultures. She also loves culinary arts, and although she does not plan to pursue a career in the field, baking has always felt like a rewarding hobby to her.
Mia loves her community, both at the University and in Las Cruces, and is hopeful about the opportunities that may come from working with the Round Up. She is also eager to bring focus to organizations at NMSU that promote diversity and personal development.
