Weck’s officially announces restaurant in Las Cruces
The numerous rumors circling the internet about who would fill the empty Dublin’s restaurant have officially been put to rest.
In a statement released yesterday morning, the Albuquerque restaurant Weck’s, well known for large portions and “full belly traditions,” confirmed that a Las Cruces location will be opening this summer.
“This summer, 2019, we will officially expand our family to Las Cruces, New Mexico. As of Feb. 13, we have purchased what once was “Dublin’s” Restaurant on University Avenue in Las Cruces,” the statement reads.
The statement comes after The Round Up unofficially confirmed the restaurant’s opening with sources close to the situation last Wednesday.
Weck’s also announced the opening on Valentine’s day via a Facebook post.

This will be the first restaurant the New Mexican chain has opened south of Los Lunas. Weck’s owner Art Kaplan told Albuquerque Business First in November that the chain has plans in the future for locations in Roswell and Texas.
No official date has been released for the grand opening of the restaurant.

Great News. We always eat at Weck’s in Albuquerque on San Mateo. We have been telling them to locate in Alamodordo or Las Cruces for years. Can’t wait for it to open. We will definitely be making the trip each month.
