Brief: NMSU announces open forum Thursday for candidates of interim provost position

New Mexico State University announced earlier in an email today that they will be holding a public forum on Feb. 10 to speak with the different candidates for the interim provost position. The three candidates are Dr. Lynn Franken, Dr. James Mackin and Dr. Dorothy Campbell who all have previously held provost positions at different universities. 

The forum will be held in the Corbett Center Ballroom 1 and via Zoom from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

  • Lynn Franken, 8 to 9 a.m., Corbett Center Ballroom 1 and Zoom
  • James Mackin, 9:15 to 10 a.m., Corbett Center Ballroom 1 and  Zoom
  • Dorothy Campbell, 2:45 to 3:45 p.m., Corbett Center Ballroom 1 and Zoom

“The provost will serve as the chief academic officer and will lead the academic mission of the university and its four community college campuses at an exciting time of growth and innovation in NMSU history,” according to an email provided by the Office of the Provost.

NMSU has encoruaged all students to attend and provide feedback on which candidate they believe can fill in the position. The forum is also open to NMSU community members who can access their resumes at https://provost.nmsu.edu.
