Michael Chavez, News Editor
Michael Chavez is entering his first year at The Round Up as the News Editor. He is currently a senior majoring in Journalism & Media Studies with a minor in Sports Marketing, with hopes of being a sports journalist after college.
He was born and raised in Albuquerque, graduating from Eldorado High School where he played on various sports teams and found his passion for journalism. Chavez has covered local high school sports around Las Cruces for the Las Cruces Sun-News and has been a sports reporter at News22 on campus.
In his free time, he enjoys spending it with family, friends and being involved with sports at any given time – whether it’s playing, watching or reporting.
