Luis Rios

Luis Rios, Political Writer

Luis Rios is a junior at New Mexico State University and is serving his second year at The Round Up as the new Political Writer. Currently enrolled in the College of Journalism, he is also pursuing a Minor in English. Born in Las Cruces, New Mexico but raised in El Paso, Texas, Luis always wanted to seek a career to match his passion for writing ever since he would write stories when he was in elementary school.

Having graduated from Franklin High School, he was introduced to journalism and became a reporter for the Franklin Chronicle, the official newspaper for the campus. He grew to be interested in journalism and now plans to obtain a career as an investigative journalist. In his free time, Luis likes to draw, read, play video games, listen to music (a lot of music) and of course write. Ever since working with The Round Up, Luis has been only getting more excited about what awaits him in his journalistic career. As he continues to advance his skills in news writing and gain more experience, he hopes to meet expectations that were brought upon him in his new position.
